Two awarded life term .fined Rs 3 lakh each for murder of brother in law

KAITHAL: Additional Sessions Judge Dr. Nandita Kaushik, while hearing a murder case, sentenced two persons to life imprisonment and a fine of three lakh rupees.

One year additional punishment will be faced for not paying the fine. Orders have also been passed to give equal sentence to the mother of the deceased and his minor son. In this case, three accused Sandeep, Sumit and Sanjay have been acquitted giving the benefit of doubt .

In this case, Salindra, a resident of village Koyal district Jind, had registered a case of murder number 464 in police station city Kaithal on 18 October 2017. Assistant Public Prosecutor Kuldeep Garg argued the case on behalf of the prosecution. Advocate Mandeep Singh and Ashok Saini supported him.

Kuldeep Garg told that Balindra, brother of the complainant Salinder, had a love marriage with Pooja of Dindoli district Jind resident about 3 years ago. The family members of Pooja were not happy with this love marriage. Balindra and Pooja had a two year old son, Preet.

On the day of the incident, Balindra accompanied by Pooja and Son came to meet the family members of Pooja in kaithal. On some doubt, Salindra came to Kaithal Jawahar Park with his uncle Kitab Singh. They both hid and saw that Pooja's aunt Neelam, Mata Karamjit Kaur, Pooja, Pooja's elder brother Dilbag, younger brother Sunil and Balinder sitting in the park.

Due to some argument, Sunil and Dilbag started mishandling Balindra. When Salindra and Kitab Singh ran to save him, Sunil and Dilbag shot Balindra with pistols. As soon as the bullets were fired, Balindra fell down and Sunil and Dilbag ran away from the spot.

Balindra was taken to a private hospital where the doctor declared him dead. On the basis of this complaint, the police registered a case and presented the challan in the court. A total of 30 witnesses appeared in the case. The court found Dilbag and Sunil guilty of murder after listening to both sides and sentenced them to life imprisonment and three- lakh rupees each in 120-page judgment. Both convicts are already in jail.
